For those who suffered nervous breakdowns while being cornered by a client due to neglection in tagging the right kind of price, this post is going to be very useful.
I hope you also read my previous post on the same topic. For those who didn't it's
hereI'm going to keep this very brief. Please read along.
Good Rules- Quote designing of the website with it's core functions with 70% of the total.
(core functions are those that your client is not going to have without)
- 30% for everything else.
This way the price is only going to get higher, if not won't go below 15% i bet.
Most of the quotations carry a one figure total without breaking it down. Well that's OK, as long as you can explain the above when needed.
It's fair rules because most of the energy is spent designing the whole thing. All else stands on top of it. If a particular function of the website is unusually tough you can always quote an unusually tough figure for it.
There's much more factors that come into when pricing a website but i hope this gives you an idea how to start off.
Good luck for your next project!
